I'm 27 years old. I'm just another tattooed artist wannabe hipster chick in a town full of them. I'm starting art school in August. I'll be the oldest in most of my classes. I'm really excited to finally finally finally get serious about art. But not that serious.

This blog will be about art. I have a lot of personal journals and things scattered across the internet, but I really want some place to focus on art. I'll also be blogging about art school here.

I figure, in the days leading up to the beginning of school, I'll talk about some of the art I put in my application portfolio. I'll also use this blog as a place to talk about new artists and things I find and become interested in.

I did this for my 3D Design class at Portland Community College. My teacher for this and two previous design classes is Kate Copeland, who is amazing and sweet and inspirational and who would not stop encouraging me to go to art school. Anyway, this assignment was to do a relief project with 3 levels of relief. Originally I had put some paper bars over and around her and this was the third layer, but for the photo I just wanted to show the sculpture I made, so I took the paper bars off. Her wings and halo are made of cut paper and her hat and clothing she is holding are made of fake rose petals. The sculpture is made of Super Sculpy and spray painted white.

I really love her.
